Gasolina share new single "Don't Be Shy"

Listen to "Don't Be Shy"

Meet Gasolina - the glitter-soaked, cocktail-fueled fever dream of an alter-ego from Stockholm based artist Lina Molarin Ericsson. In a maybe surprising sharp turn of musical direction - following her years in the infamous cult lo-fi punk duo ShitKid - Gasolina is all pop. Think Sugababes on a bender, Britney with a hangover, and Paris without the hotel fortune. The result is a fresh, tongue-in-cheek take on modern pop culture, with equal measures of attitude and catchy hooks, and somehow manages to maintain more "Rock & Roll" than most punk bands.

Gasolina is now back with her third release with PNKSLM Recordings. Hot on the heels of her surprise Christmas hit double-single, Swedish artist Lina Molarin Ericsson - who also moonlights as the bassist in the newly reformed cult punk band ShitKid - returns with the disco-influenced single "Don't Be Shy".

"We started working on Don’t Be Shy this summer." Explains Lina. "Luke was showing me some instrumentals he had been working on, and the first thing he played was this amazing disco thing. It was really catchy even without having a melody or lyrics."

I couldn’t stop thinking about it, and was just walking around the next day on my very unglamorous day job humming to it, until I found a melody that I felt could be well deserving of this song.

I apparently have a complete inability to write normal love songs. So the lyrics kinda ended up being about obsessing over someone you don’t really care all that much about, maybe out of boredom or restlessness."

"Don't Be Shy" is the first taste from Gasolina's upcoming EP, which will be released via PNKSLM Recordings late spring 2026.
