Gasolina signs to PNKSLM, release new single "Drunk Girl Summer" alongside music video

ShitKid bassist Lina Molarin Ericsson's Gasolina project is the latest signing to PNKSLM Recordings

Gasolina's "Drunk Girl Summer" is the official anthem for 2025's messy nights, and even messier mornings. Under her new popstar alter-ego, the Stockholm-based artist Lina Molarin Ericsson has captured the ups and downs of owning your best bad decisions. In a sharp change of direction from her previous work in the cult lo-fi punk duo ShitKid, Gasolina pays homage to a wide range of her pop influences from Sugababes to Sabrina Carpenter.

“This was one of those songs that sort of came out of nowhere" explains Lina. "Me and Luke (Reilly) had just got into the studio to work on some of my other songs, and he offered me a beer. For some unknown reason, my instant reaction was 'why not, it's my Drunk Girl Summer!' Luke right away was like 'well that's got to be a song' and a couple hours later we had the chorus and rough instrumental. I wrote the lyrics that night, and we recorded them the next day, and the rest is history."

"It's obviously very tongue-in-cheek, but I think most people will be able to relate to the song, we've all been there the morning after, thinking 'why the hell did I do that, why the hell did I say that' …  and sometimes you just have to own it.
