Since her breakthrough back in 2016, Åsa Söderqvist’s lo-fi rock project ShitKid has been one of the most captivating acts in Europe, constantly defying expectations and breaking conventions, while getting praised by the likes of The FADER, i-D, NPR, The Line of Best Fit and many more.

After abruptly ending the project in 2020 and disappearing from the music scene altogether, ShitKid is now back, set to tour around the world in 2026, as ShitKid celebrates 10 years of existence. PNKSLM Recordings will also be releasing the compilation The Essential (Vol 1) which brings together the raw, rock-driven highlights from her career, as picked by Åsa herself.

After first appearing in the spring of 2016 with the debut single "Oh Please Be A Cocky Cool Kid", ShitKid quickly set to conquering the world, releasing a string of albums and EPs that include the cult classic debut LP Fish, the breakthrough EP This Is It and the Melvins-collaboration Duo Limbo/"Mellan himmel å helvete", while making fans of the likes of Iggy Pop, Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and Fever Ray.

Appearances at festivals such as Roskilde, SXSW, The Great Escape and Way Out West followed alongside tour dates around the world and support slots with the likes of the Melvins and US Girls, executed in a trademarked chaotic fashion before Åsa decided to call it a day in 2020, disappearing from the public eye as the myth grew before returning in November 2026 as the sole guest to Viagra Boys' homecoming show at the Globe Arena in Stockholm with a busy 2026 to follow...
