The Mary Veils - Esoteric Hex (marble vinyl)

This is our first LP with the Philadelphia garage rock band, shortly following last autumn's "Somewhere Over The Rowhome" EP. Whilst "Rowhome" went a slightly more straight forward garage punk route - "Esoteric Hex" takes the band down a darker, much heavier route. For fans of bands like Oh Sees, Meatbodies, King Gizzard etc - this one's a really a no-brainer. Again produced by Jeff Zeigler (Kurt Vile, The War on Drugs etc) and Cory Hanson (Wand, Ty Segall etc), it's one of those rare records that really smashes you in the face, but also somehow sounds amazingly produced.
